Keshi pearls form without a bead at the centre — the mollusc's own initiative rather than a seeded one. Strung whole into the Flora Necklace, their jagged petal forms interlock into a strand with the texture of something grown rather than manufactured, because that is precisely what it is.

The irregular petals sit at slight angles to one another, so light travels across the strand in a running shimmer rather than a row of dots — visible from across a room, legible as craft up close. At 16 to 18 inches it frames an open collar or a bateau neckline; on a bride it reads as heirloom rather than accessory. Wear it where a classic round strand would look inherited-by-default; the Flora looks chosen.

Care & Keeping

Pearls follow one rule above all: last on, first off. Finish your perfume, hairspray, and lotion before your jewelry touches skin, and remove it before anything else at day's end. After each wear, pass a soft, lint-free cloth over the pearls to lift skin oils. Keep nacre clear of water, chlorine, and household chemicals, and store each piece separately. Sterling silver revives with a gentle pass of a polishing cloth — kept away from the pearl itself. Never use ultrasonic cleaners or steam; a pearl's structure is organic, and irreplaceable.
