Laevié Vienna Pearl Pendant Necklace

A strand of small freshwater pearls, gathered at the throat, resolving at its center in one mauve coin-form drop the water shaped over years — the Vienna's argument, stated once.

Worn at the base of the throat, the pearl strand reads as texture from a distance and as craft up close; the pendant catches lamplight in slow, irregular flashes rather than a uniform glint. Against a white poplin shirt with the collar open, it does the work of an entire outfit. With a black silk slip or a bateau neckline, wear it alone; the Vienna does not layer, and does not need to.

Small cultured freshwater pearls, continuous strand; one cultured pearl pendant, approximately 12–15mm, with multi-tonal overtone. Clasp, fittings, and heart charm at the extender in S925 sterling silver with gold plating. Contemporary short length — just under 16 inches — sitting at the base of the throat.

Care & Keeping

Pearls follow one rule above all: last on, first off. Finish your perfume, hairspray, and lotion before your jewelry touches skin, and remove it before anything else at day's end. After each wear, pass a soft, lint-free cloth over the pearls to lift skin oils. Keep nacre clear of water, chlorine, and household chemicals, and store each piece separately. After wear, wipe gently with a clean, soft, dry cloth. Do not use a silver polishing cloth on the gold-plated fittings. Never use ultrasonic cleaners or steam; a pearl's structure is organic, and irreplaceable.
